If you click on the link, and then go below the story on nurses to the story "between the lines" it will take you to a 12 min radio podcast. Liz Cooksey is my mother, and there are two bits of her talking. For those who know me and have heard my stories, you'll know why Erika and I fell off the couch last night laughing at the phrase "genetically Persistent".

So- My morning client has a cold, and I had DR appointment this morning over by campus. Result- I went to UO Bookstore to mail some stuff and bug Erika. RIGHT in the front of the art section was a whole display of Holbein pastels for 10 cents each. Now, my aunt, Rebecca Becker, is a pastel master, winner of awards etc, so I got excited and thought I'd just buy em all for her for her winter prezzy. (Christmas, Chanuka, and her bday is New Years eve) I talked to the checker, and I thought to myself that it would be most efficiant to take the display box to HER so we could count em into a box.

Riiiiight...

I hefted, and it wasn't too bad, so I got a hand under, and a hand over and got almost there... and the top of the display disconnected. BOOM TODAY.

Wow- pretty! ooooops...

Only half of em broke, and so I have a box of whole ones and a bag of half ones, and a cut on my finger, and two checkers covered on colorful dust, and an intimate knowledge of the floor of that department!

Now I'm eating lunch and waiting for my afternoon client. My hands are no longer rainbow tinted, but my socks are, just a bit!

errrr- happy Birthday Aunty!
